Description:

Participants will discuss ways of managing self and classroom in order to better manage students with a focus on self and classroom organization.   This session will also provide helpful hints and practical suggestions on how to get the most out of student teaching experience.

Presenter Details:
Catherine L. Hazelton, received her BA in Elementary Education from North Carolina Central University in May 1991 as a member of the first entering class of North Carolina Teaching Fellows and her Masters in School Administration from the UNC-Greensboro. She has 18 years of teaching experience. She has served on and/or co-chaired several committees and boards, has supervised pre-service teachers and interns from local colleges and universities, and mentored beginning teachers in the school. Ms. Hazelton has served the Teaching Fellows Program as an assessor for the Writing Assessment, a facilitator and/or presenter for Junior and Senior conferences, as Chair/Interviewer on the Regional Screening Committee, and as a Commission Member. She taught a Module for NCTEACH at North Carolina Central University; and for three years, served on the Governor’s Teacher Advisory Committee under Governor James B. Hunt. She enjoys spending her “free time” with her family and friends.
