Stress-Less Techniques: Ideas for Teachers and Students

Workshop Number: 13

Presenter:
Marilynn Chapman, TF Alumna

Description:
Are you trying to balance school, work, relationships and community commitments? Do you wake up in the middle of the night having dreamed about your future class? If your answer to one or both of the above-mentioned questions is YES, this workshop might be for you. We, along with our students, experience stress in our lives on a daily basis. Sometimes it is hard to believe that young people experience stress when they seemingly don’t have the worries and cares of the adult world. Children often experience stressors due to family changes, school demands, peer pressure and parental expectations. You will take a stress test that can also be used with students to identify whether or not you need to maintain balance in your life. Come learn about basic hand massage techniques, imagery exercises, healthful eating habits and the use of humor. Energizers, equalizers and BrainGym will be introduced. Handouts and door prizes will be provided.
