Your first three years of teaching can be the toughest but also the most rewarding!!! In this workshop, we will discover the TEN "must-haves" for beginning teachers, examine the advantages and disadvantages of being a young teacher, share some of my personal "teacher tricks," and explore interactive teaching methods. This workshop will definitely prepare you for your student teaching experience and provide some valuable advice.

Rachel Matthews is a Teaching Fellows graduate of East Carolina University (entering class of 2003). GO PIRATES!!! She is currently a U.S. History teacher at Western Harnett High School as well as the Advisor for the Student Government Association. She has recently completed her third year of teaching.
