This workshop is based on the presenter’s book, Everything I Need to Know About Teaching…They Forgot to Tell Me. The workshop will provide helpful advice and information that all new teachers should hear. Beginning with how to find a job, what happens the days before the first day of school, how to manage students, parents, co-workers, paperwork, the copiers, and so much more. This workshop will cover every aspect in the life of a first year teacher. This honest approach to the reality of the first year teaching is inspiring and invaluable. A must hear for the teacher-to-be!

Presenter Details:
Stacey Jarvis is a NC Teaching Fellow from UNC-Wilmington. She is a National Board Certified Teacher (AYA Social Studies). Ms. Jarvis received her M. Ed at UNC-Charlotte. She is the author of Everything I Need to Know About Teaching…They Forgot to Tell Me (by Corwin Press). She is also currently serving as a part-time Instructor at UNC-Charlotte (School of Education) and has 10 years teaching in Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools.
