Team Building for Elementary Students
Workshop Number: 16 Presenter: John Gibson Description: This workshop will focus on turning your classroom "Team" into a communicating, collaborating community. It’s not just fun Teambuilding games and activities, and it’s not just teaching your children what you know. These are fun and easy lessons about how to teach your children to think and reflect on what they know, perceive, or have just learned Win-win, fun, team-building games for elementary teachers and students Curricular Areas: Elementary Presenter Details: Mr Gibson has taught Health and Phys. Educ. In the small mountain town of Black Mtn., N.C. for 21 years. One of his main focuses is to teach children to live a healthy lifestyle while encouraging them to get out and explore the unique community in which they live. He inspires children and staff to take advantage of the many opportunities to hike, pedal, camp, climb, paddle and play in an area that abounds in natural beauty. Mr Gibson earned an ASD from Montreat Anderson College and attained a BA from Catawba College. He is currently an adjunct professor at Montreat College and presents workshops and facilitates focus groups in his area. Mr Gibson was recently awarded the NCAAHPERD, NCAAHE 2008 North Carolina Elementary Health Educator of the Year.
